"Everyone is miffed with this Govt": Tejashwi reaches Gardanibagh; backs protesting PDS dealers, students
Patna, Bihar: Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Monday visited Patna's Gardanibagh protest site to extend political backing to protesting Public Distribution System (PDS) dealers and student groups.
Addressing the demonstrators, Yadav hit out at the state government, accusing the administration of ignoring widespread grievances and fostering systemic corruption.Yadav said the demands of the PDS dealers had been handed over to him by their association and assured the protesters that the opposition would stand with them.
"We have come here to support your demands. Demands of all PDS dealers have been handed over to me by the Association. We stand with you strongly. We will raise your issues from the streets to the Assembly," he said.He urged the dealers and protesters to remain united and said the entire Mahagathbandhan and the opposition stood with them. "Stay united; the entire Mahagathbandhan, the entire Opposition stands with you," he added.
Yadav criticised the state administration for turning a deaf ear to working-class associations and student groups, pointing to "rampant corruption" as the primary driver of public discontent across sectors. "Everyone is miffed with this Govt... Nobody is being heard and there is rampant corruption," he said.
Speaking about the demands of the PDS dealers, Yadav said electronic weighing scales should be introduced in the public distribution system. He said several of the demands had already been included in the opposition's manifesto, but alleged that the government had not acted on them.
"Electronic weighing scales should be introduced. We had already put many demands listed here in our manifesto. But this government is not acting on it. We will do all we can from our side," Yadav said. He further alleged that the state government was corrupt and said it should be removed from power. "This is a corrupt government. It should be thrown out," he said.
During his interaction at the protest site, Yadav also met the protesting students and expressed his support for their demands. Yadav reiterated that the opposition would continue to raise the concerns of the protesting groups both on the streets and inside the Assembly. (ANI)
